Why my brain's playing tricks on me (and probably yours too)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I had a weird epiphany as I drank orange juice, trying to recover from being sick this morning.
Have you ever felt 'sick' just because someone mentioned they weren't feeling too great?
No real symptoms.
Just that vague, nagging feeling that maybe you're coming down with something?
That's due to the power of your brain.
Here's a quick story for you bro.
I have a friend named Mike. (Alias name, no snitching here).
Mike was convinced he was coming down with the flu because, get this, he'd read a bunch of symptoms online.
No cough, no fever – nada.
But he'd believed so hard, his body acted the part. Queue a series of dramatic sneezes. Placebo, or should I say, "Nocebo" effect in action.
It got me thinking. If our minds can conjure up phantom sneezes and fevers, imagine its colossal power in sculpting our day-to-day reality.
You believe you can't nail that project? Your output's probably gonna reflect that.
Do you believe you're the absolute dogshit at something? Odds are, you'll soar.
It's not just the feel-good, fluff talk. Your mindset's the puppet master, pulling strings even when you're not looking.
But here's the game-changer. Recognizing this means you've got the remote control.
Next time those rogue thoughts wander into self-doubt territory, you can choose to switch channels. Dive into the archives and replay moments you owned it. Or, even better, create a new highlight reel.
Bottom line? Your brain's the ultimate trickster.
But now that you're in the know, will you change?
Okay I'm scribbling all this, and really, it's like I'm writing a letter to you bro.
Talk soon,
Logan
